Trapezius is a flat and superficial muscle which extends from cervical to thoracic region covering the posterior aspect of neck and trunk. Trapezius strain occurs when the muscle is excessively used. It can lead to decreased quality of life and physical limitation. Trapezius strain can also lead to cervicogenic headache.






Causes of Trapezius Strain

  • lifting heavy weight
  • overuse injury
  • falls mostly in elderly population
  • contact sports
  • trigger points
